We are delighted to announce that the Sheffield Charity Construction Dinner which was held at Baldwin’s Omega on Friday 24 October raised £11,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The event was organised by Sheffield-based architects, HLM, and Arup’s Sheffield office, and was attended by 260 people from property and construction companies across the region. Graham Construction, one of the UK’s leading construction, asset management and project investment businesses were this year’s sponsors.
Since 2001 the annual fundraising event has now raised over £180,000 for many local charities.
Commenting on the success of this year’s event, HLM operations director, Nick Beecroft said: “On behalf of our co-organisers, Arup, and our main sponsor – Graham – we would like to say a very big ‘thank you’ to everyone that made the event such a success. We know that every penny raised will be used by the Alzheimer’s Society to help find a cure for this debilitating and stressful disease, and we’re delighted to have been able to play a small part in the on-going success of this very deserving charity.”
Jim Bell, office leader and director at Arup’s Sheffield office, added: “We’ve organised this event with HLM for many years now and this year was another major success, contributing to a very worthwhile charity. The fantastic attendance and the generosity of the donations mean that the work of this charity can continue and the hope is that one day a cure will be found for those suffering with Alzheimer’s.”
