Sheffield architecture practice HLM Architects is one of the property and construction industry’s Top 50 Employers according to a national survey released this month.

Building magazine, one of the industry’s main titles, judged entries from architects, engineers, contractors and consultants across the country on criteria that included corporate social responsibility (CSR), smarter working, inspiration, leadership, ability to contribute and the ‘feel good factor’.

The company provides archtiecture, landscape, interior design and masterplanning services throughout the UK in the education, health, defence, custodial, civic, commercial and residential sectors.  Its key projects in Sheffield include the Building Schools for the Future programme, which is improving all school and college buildings across the city by 2015.

HLM Architects also made the Top 50 thanks to its income protection, group life assurance, childcare vouchers, and bike to work schemes as well as options for sabbaticals, career breaks, part time and home working for its 180 staff.

HLM Architects Director, Nick Beecroft, who heads up its Sheffield office said:
“We surround our employees with the right mix of resources, support and an environment that inspires ideas.  This approach brings out the best in our dedicated creative team and our clients benefit immensely as a result.”
