Chris is HLM's Chairman and has helped it become the leading firm that it is today by continually developing its management ethos while remaining hands-on in some of HLM's flagship projects. His complete dedication to architectural excellence carries on outside the practice, giving lectures and seminars in the design of healthcare, custodial, defence and education buildings to the universities of Sheffield, Cardiff, Nottingham, De Montfort and Dublin. A champion of social architecture, Chris drives our increasing involvement in major PFI schemes. A regular speaker at PFI conferences in Europe, Africa, America and Australia, Chris is also involved with various CABE subcommittees and, as an advisor to the Treasury Taskforce, contributed to government publications including: Good Design in PFI Projects (Treasury Task Force No 7), Better, Defence Buildings - Defence Estates and NHS Procurement Protocols.
