Neil Orpwood

Associate Director - Healthcare

Neil joined HLM Architects in March 1994 to complete his second year of practical training and was able to gain his Part III Professional Practice with relative ease through the experience achieved on both housing and hospital schemes within the Practice.

Working closely with both client and contractor on difficult refurbishment/part new build schemes has provided a sound knowledge of the detailed coordination requirements to complete projects as economically and efficiently as possible.

Neil was made an Associate in January 2006 in recognition of his work to date and has lead projects through from inception to completion working well within all types of project team set up, most notably for the new Oncology and Haematology Unit at Castle Hill Hospital, Hull, helping to achieve an RIBA 2009 White Rose Gold Award for Architecture.

In further recognition of his work and experience in the Healthcare Sector, Neil was appointed Associate Director in July 2011
