Barnsley Grouped Schools PFI

This PFI project created thirteen new build primary schools, ranging from 210 places to 420 places, in phases between June 2006 and the end of 2007. The result is a new generation of primary education facilities including nursery, reception, key stage one and two teaching.

Every design was conceived with superior sustainability in mind as well as efficient, flexible and welcoming layouts which place the social core around an internal school street, providing opportunities for group and individual teaching while also encouraging social interaction.
