Isle of Wight One School Pathfinder

HLM are currently appointed as Client Design and Technical Advisors to the Isle of Wight Council to advise on the design and procurement of the One School Pathfinder project in Cowes. The scheme at Cowes High School will create a new 1620 pupil facility for 11 - 19 years with a business and enterprise specialism. The new school will be the amalgamation of Cowes High School with several middle schools and will be at the forefront of transformational education design. The Cowes One School Pathfinder will be the forerunner to the Isle of Wight Building Schools for the Future programme.

HLM have been instrumental in the development of the design brief through detailed consultations with the Local Authority and the school. HLM have developed the schedules of accommodation and detailed area data sheets. HLM have consulted with the Planning Department, highways and others to produce design control options for the site and HLM has built good working relationships with key members of the IOW Council planning and procurement staff.
