Cynon Valley Hospital

In response to calls for improved Primary Care and Chronic Disease Management Services in South Wales, the Cwm Taf (Formally North Glamorgan) NHS Trust embarked on a scheme to focus Intermediate Care on prevention and rehabilitation.  This Scheme is seen as a fundamental catalyst to the social regneration objective for the area, and is paramount in promoting community activity and sustainability.

The building makes use of a blend of holistic design, natural ventilation and green technology to achieve an environment that focuses on a simple layout and the healing environment.  A pleasant setting and a low-rise approach have produced a design that both compliments the site and delivers non-institutional services to South Wales.
