Medunsa Skills Laboratories

The building consists of two levels. The bottom floor is a semi-basement that houses the Department of Nursing, two large seminar rooms, two large boardrooms, over 20 offices, an IT centre, kitchen facilities and a 66-seater office. The top level contains a large number of laboratories, storage rooms, administration offices, dedicated IT room as well as the entrance and reception.

The whole facility is air-conditioned and fully accessible for disabled persons. The seminar rooms can be combined into larger spaces by moving stackable acoustic partitioning, and the large entrance lobby with waiting areas is treated with sound absorption materials to dampen the sound generated by large groups of students moving in and out of classes. The concrete roof accommodates all the air-conditioning, while the window glass is heat-absorbent to minimise mechanical ventilation load.
