Mooikloof Office Park

Mooikloof, meaning beautiful valley, is one of Pretoria's newest and most up-market suburbs. Property developer wanted to maximise the commercial value of two sites at the northern entrance to the suburb for office development serving local businesses.

We were appointed to design the first site to house six identical office blocks, two storeys high, with semi-basement parking, ensuring the protection of the picturesque landscape. The roof areas house recreational facilities which double up as boardrooms to make best use of the space.

The exterior is formed of concrete building blocks with a convincing pseudo-sandstone texture and colour that softens the elevations and blends with the surroundings. Careful orientation minimises the air conditioning requirement.

The whole complex is served by an onsite sewerage processing plant which recycles water for irrigation purposes.
