BSF Sheffield - King Edwards VII Upper School
Discipline: Architecture
Client: VINCI Construction
This is a refurbishment project of a very special nature, as the main existing school building comprises a fine Grade II* Listed Building in a columned classical style. It is set in a constrained urban site, in a conservation area, with a lawned frontage and mature planting.
The proposals refurbish the existing building within the constraints of the listing and propose a new extension containing science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to replace poor quality 1950's extensions.
In addition, a new sports block is to be constructed in a discrete area of the site. The new sports facility provides a full height sports hall with changing rooms and showers alongside a classroom and fitness suite.
