The winning scheme in an architectural competition for the development of the former Pex site in Leicester.  The site consisted of a Grade II Listed warehouse adjacent to the Grand Union Canal.  The works were funded by Leicester City Challenge and European Funding.  The scheme incorporated the refurbishment of the warehouse into office accommodation and the creation of a new public square with a bridge across to Leicester Castle Gardens with a glass and timber pavilion at the centre of the square.  A number of workshops with flats above were provided and a public house at the corner site to bring life to the area.

The design of the building retains the original open plan spaces with vaulted ceiling and iron columns by using raised access floors for all the services.  Two new planar glass and steel stair towers have been constructed at either end of the space minimising the impact on the facades and an independent plant room constructed to house the boilers.
