The redevelopment of this 1960s acute care hospital has been critical in ensuring that the upgrade of clinical and support services are integrated in a manner which optimises functional relationships and maximises space utilisation in an aesthetically pleasing and cohesive environment.
Designed and built in carefully considered phases this major multi award winning hospital redevelopment project has been careful in minimising the disruption to the existing hospital site.
Working closely with the Trust, clinical end user groups and Health Estates, our team developed 14 options to accommodate all known current and future estate rationalisation projects in a flexible and sustainable pattern of growth.
This is one of the first major healthcare buildings in Northern Ireland to be designed and constructed using Health Estates' innovative Performance Related Partnering procurement methods whereby performance is regularly reviewed as the project moves from one phase to the next, and standards which should not be compromised are agreed at the outset including delivering to programme, maximising quality and value for stakeholders, enhancing the overall environment, provision of timely resources, creating whole life end user satisfaction, flexibility and sustainability.
